Nothing
5-Day Devotional: Standing in God's Unchanging Love
Day 1: No Condemnation
Reading: Romans 8:1-4
Devotional: "There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." This isn't a feeling to work up—it's a fact to stand on. Many of us carry verdicts we've passed on ourselves, sentences for past failures or shame from things done to us. But if you're in Christ, the gavel has already fallen, and the verdict is "not guilty." The case is closed. Stop serving a sentence that's already been overturned. Jesus didn't reduce your condemnation; He eliminated it completely. Today, whatever guilt you've been carrying, lay it down. The Spirit of life has set you free from the law of sin and death. Walk in that freedom.
Day 2: Children of the Father
Reading: Romans 8:14-17
Devotional: You didn't receive a spirit that makes you a slave to fear. You received the Spirit of sonship, allowing you to cry "Abba, Father"—Daddy. This isn't formal or distant; it's the intimate trust of a child who knows without question, "My Daddy's got me." The Spirit testifies with your spirit that you are God's child—not an employee on probation, not a guest hoping to earn your place, but a son or daughter who already belongs. You don't have to perform for God's love; you already have it. Today, rest in your identity as His beloved child. Let the Spirit reassure you that you belong to the family of God, fully and completely.
Day 3: The Spirit Intercedes
Reading: Romans 8:26-28
Devotional: We don't always know what to pray for, and that's okay. When you've prayed for someone for years without visible change, when you've run out of words, when you can only offer tears—the Spirit translates those groans into prayers God understands. Your prayers don't need to be eloquent for heaven to move. Some of the most powerful prayers are simply tears shed in faith. And here's the promise: God works for the good of those who love Him, even in the waiting, even in the silence, even when nothing seems to be happening. The waiting isn't empty; it's full of God's active work. Keep praying. Keep loving. God is already working on something you cannot yet see.
Day 4: God Is For Us
Reading: Romans 8:31-34
Devotional: "If God is for us, who can be against us?" This isn't a nervous question; it's a confident declaration. Paul challenges us to name something powerful enough to stand against what God is doing in our lives. He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all—how will He not also graciously give us all things? No accusation can stick when Christ Himself intercedes for us. Your past can't disqualify you. Your failures can't separate you. Your doubts can't undo His love. Today, whatever opposition you face—internal or external—remember that the Creator of the universe is actively for you. Let that truth strengthen your faith and silence your fears.
Day 5: Nothing Can Separate Us
Reading: Romans 8:35-39
Devotional: Death can't separate you from God's love. Life can't do it. Angels, demons, the present, the future, any powers, height, depth—nothing in all creation can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Read that list again slowly. Whatever you're carrying today, whatever you've done, whatever's been done to you, however long you've been praying without an answer—none of it is strong enough to undo Christ's love for you. The woman at the well with her shame, the thief dying on a cross, Nicodemus confused in the darkness—none were separated from God's love. Neither are you. This isn't wishful thinking; this is the verdict. Christ is enough. Stand on that truth today and every day forward.
